Popular Musicology is the forensic musicology site of Brian McBrearty, where for purposes of education and discourse  he provides elaborate and detailed analysis of the most interesting copyright infringement actions currently in the news, primarily from the world of popular music.

Mr. McBrearty is degreed in both music (composition, theory, and jazz) and economics; runs both a leading production music library, Sonitarium.com, and Mediagloss Audio Studio which provides custom music, sfx, and consulting services to some of the worlds biggest multimedia companies. He has composed and produced hundreds of pieces for commercials, tv, and video games.
