Musicologize is the forensic musicology site of Brian McBrearty. In addition to providing musicologist consulting services, such as comparison analysis, clearances, and litigation support, Mr. McBrearty writes extensively on the most interesting music copyright infringement actions currently in the news.
Mr. McBrearty is degreed in both Music (music theory and composition major, and jazz theory major; and also minored in music business) and in Economics. He runs a production music library, Sonitarium.com, as well as Mediagloss Audio Studio which provides custom music, sfx, and consulting services to some of the world's biggest multimedia companies. He has composed and produced hundreds of pieces for commercials, tv, and interactive.
Brian McBrearty is a member of the American Musicological Society, The Copyright Society of the USA, The American Bar Association, and The American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP). He resides in the San Francisco Bay Area.
